Underdog Bookstore is a Monrovia-based nonprofit serving as a community care distribution location for those affected by the Southern California wildfires. We are located at 312 S. Myrtle Ave, Monrovia, CA, 91016.
During store open hours we have supplies available for those in need to collect, and volunteers coordinating local deliveries. We are supporting displaced individuals directly and also distributing to other mutual aid, community groups, evacuation centers, shelters etc.
Your donations will allow us to purchase gift cards and new items in response to specific requests, and get urgent supplies where they are needed most. All funds received here will contribute to wildfire relief efforts.

Do You Need Supplies?
If you are in need or know someone who is, please reach out to us via Instagram, Facebook, over the phone (626-415-1031) or come into the store.
Please bring a list of what is needed, including dietary needs (if picking up food), clothing/shoe sizes and gender, any hygiene needs, baby needs, menstruation product needs, and/or pet needs.
We are working diligently to fulfill needs that come in on a first come, first serve basis. Based on volunteer availability, we are doing local deliveries of supplies and accepting walk-ins for supplies.
Book Lovers for LA Charity Auction
Calling all book lovers! BLFLA is rallying the book community to support those affected by the fires.
We will be hosting a charity auction January 29th to February 5th.
All proceeds will go to three Non-Profit Organizations that are working towards relief efforts.

LA Fire Foundation
LA Regional Food Bank
The donation form is now open here.
We will be keeping the form open until the 21st OR Until we reach our cap of 200 form submissions.
We are looking for authors, artists, bookish businesses, etc that are wanting to donate.
Anything from swag, SE, Bookish biz CG, PA Services, etc.

Volunteer
We are accepting volunteers on an as-needed basis. Please give us a call (626-415-1031) to see what volunteer opportunities we have available at the time.
Your role might look like any of the following:
accepting donations
sorting donations
researching who needs donations
assisting walk-ins with donation collection
gathering donations for deliveries and pick-ups
delivering donations to local community
something else as new needs arise
Gift Card Donations
Purchase Underdog Bookstore e-gift cards to be included in care packages for folks in need of supplies.
To purchase an Underdog Bookstore e-gift card for someone in need:
Choose to send to one person or multiple people at once
Choose e-gift card amount/s
Select “send by email”
For Recipient Name, type Wildfire Relief Donation
For Email Address, type underdogbookstore@gmail.com
Choose delivery date (ideally today)
Enter your own information
Click on the checkout button
Complete your purchase on the next screen.
Donations
We are currently updating our social media accounts daily with what we need donated. Please check there or call us before coming by the store. This will help save your time and energy plus allow us to stay dedicated to getting what we have out to community members. We can also accept deliveries of supplies to the store but again, please call or check our social media before sending anything.
